Postdoctoral Teaching Fellow
Department of French and Francophone Studies

The Department of French and Francophone Studies of Hobart and William Smith Colleges is seeking a Postdoctoral Teaching Fellow to begin July 1, 2019. The initial appointment is for one year, with the possibility of renewal for a second year. Our interests include, but are not restricted to, 20th and 21st century French and Francophone cultural studies, linguistics, sociolinguistics, French language pedagogy and language acquisition.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

The candidate must have Ph.D. in hand prior to assuming teaching duties. This will be a temporary position with a teaching load of 4 classes per year, including sections of first and second-year French. Successful candidates will be expected to participate and contribute to departmentally organized extra-curricular events and activities on campus and in the community (i.e., film festival, francophone table, etc.). We desire candidates with experience with and/or interest in working in a multicultural environment and encouraging excellence from students with diverse backgrounds and experiences.
