Fixed-Term Lecturership in French (Worcester College, Oxford)

Salary: £22,079-£24,833 per annum

Applications are invited for a fixed-term (maternity cover) Lecturership in French at Worcester College, Oxford, tenable from 1 October 2018 to 30 September 2019.  The lecturer will be required:

to teach French (written, oral, and aural) to small groups of undergraduates in their first, second, and fourth years, by means of composition in French (essay and summary) and translation from English into French (with a focus on literary translation), grammar exercises, and oral and listening comprehension exercises; to provide the students with regular written and oral feedback (formative and summative) on their work; to participate in the Undergraduate Admissions Process, which includes marking the French Language Admissions Test (in November) and interviewing suitable candidates (in week 9 of Michaelmas term, in early December).

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor of Arts degree and be close to completing, or have completed, a doctoral degree in French or another relevant subject.

Stipend will be in the range £22,079-£24,833 per annum, according to qualifications and experience. The lecturer will be entitled to Senior Common Room membership, with free lunches and dinners when the kitchens are open.
